After doing a couple of hours of research, I bought a Gocco printer! I'm super excited. It should be here in about 4 to 6 days. :)

Here is a picture of the package I received from LouraPalmr for the Sakura swap:

Everything is so incredibly gorgeous!

And here are some pictures of the items I have completed so far for the Hello Kitty swap.

Perler Bead Hello Kitty pin

Little Twin Stars crocheted scarf

Two crocheted flower hot pads I found on itscute's wist.

I still have some more crafting to do, and will post pictures as I finish them.

I'm also going to start working on some little things for the distro. :)

I feel absolutely terrible. I received today from my partner for the Sakura swap, and her package was amazing. A ton of cute purses she made, and some other note cards and paper goods. My package was nothing compared to hers. I decided to redo my package and send another one to her.

On a good note, my partner for the Hello Kitty swap is sending late, and so that gives me some time to add a little more to my package. :)

Since tomorrow is my last day off before the weekend, I think I'm going to try to work on a zine I've had in mind for awhile. My goal is to finish it and some other ones I've been thinking about, and sell them as a little zine package. Hopefully all will go well and I can use the profits for a summer art program I want to go to.

Osaka called and wants me back for the weekends, and I quit Subway Saturday afternoon because the manager was a bitch. And I think she's ripping me off on my paychecks. I worked almost 30 hours my first week and she only put me in for 24, so my paycheck was only $100. Bitchhhhh.

But i spent the weekend working on my swap items and I still need to finish some more. I'll post pictures later!

My mom and grandma decided to paint my room, so all my furniture is scrunched up in the middle of the room and all my stuff is in the attic. It'll hopefully be done by next weekend, and I can continue working on my swap package. I get my swap partner for the Sakura swap tomorrow!

Today was my first day at Subway. It was pretty easy, and I had a ton of fun. I think I'm going to enjoy it. And I think the manager is going to give me a lot of hours, which is awesome, because i really need the money!

A teacher at school showed me what I was doing wrong with the distro website. So I'm going to spend whatever time I have this weekend working on a layout and trying to get everything together and working, so I will have a real, professional website, finally! I'm also going to be working on some sweet crafty items to put up for sale as well. And some more zines before Christmas hopefully.

So... guess who is employed! I turned in my application at Subway last night, and they got back to me this morning. I went in, filled out the paperwork, and start Thursday. I'm excited. It seems like an awesome place, and she hired Billy today too. So me, him, Barbara, and Amber are all going to be working there. :D

I sent off my package to the Sampler this morning, & grabbed some mailing supplies for the swap, and those grab bags I'm selling.

& now I'm off to try to get my summer reading done!

Even though I should be finishing The Scarlet Letter and doing my AP English summer assignments, I spent today looking/thinking up some cute things for that Hello Kitty swap. I'm working on a couple of small things right now, and will post pictures later. I'm super excited :D

Oh, & i have a couple of zine grab bags for sale if anyone is interested. They're $15 for US, then contact me if you're interested in one & you're outside of the US. I prefer paypal.

I went to the mall today with my mom and Billy, and ended up spending what little money I had left on two books:

Now I'm off to go try some of the awesome patterns in the books :D

Today was most likely the most boring day of my life. But I did get a lot done;

250 pages printed
137 papers folded
100 distro catalogs stapled together
20 copies of my zine printed

and I bought a website for the distro!

I also signed up for two swaps on Craftster:

Hello Kitty and Friends Swap Round 2
Sakura To Sakuranbo Swap [Cherry Blossoms and Cherries]

I'm excited :D

So it just occurred to me that I have 5 days to have my Sampler contributions printed and sent off, along with the distro catalogue finished and printed to send with them.

Looks like I'm pulling an all nighter...

I'm finally starting to get things accomplished!

After about 4 months of trying to find a cheap printer to have the Art Zines printed, and missing out on getting the catalogues printed at school, I just decided to buy a high quality printer and do all the printing at home.

After about 7 months of promising some consignment orders, and not hearing back about the rest of them, I'm going to go ahead and send out a couple of items. I had sent Sweet Candy Distro a huge order, and haven't heard anything back from them. I know the package didn't get lost in the mail. Hopefully I'll hear back from her soon.

I need some inspiration! Work is so draining, and I really feel like being creative and painting and drawing, but i have no idea what to draw or paint.

I'll be taking some days off soon, so hopefully I'll be able to get some crocheting done and work on my 24 hour zine entry!

I haven't updated this thing in over a month. But with summer here already, I'll be sure to keep up with things.

Right now I'm working out the details about helping to put on this years 24 Hour Zine event. I'm still working on Sampler contributions, and am having trouble finding time to get to the printers to find out about pricing for the art zine. But my goal is to have everything done by the end of June.

I haven't been very crafty lately. I started a new blanket for Brandon, which I hope to have finished in the next couple of weeks. The sushi blanket is almost done, it just needs to be put together, and the pink blanket I had started for Chris... well... it's not going to happen I don't think. But I promise to post pictures when I'm done.

off to work now...

Things are going pretty nicely. I've been doing a lot of crocheting lately, and will hopefully have the blanket done by the end of this month. I'll post pictures when it's done.

I've been so buys with school work and stuff, that I haven't even had time to go through all the submissions for the art zine and put them together, but tomorrow I am going to start printing the Sampler edition, and hopefully get them out in the mail in time. Thank goodness the deadline is now the 20th, so I have some extra time.

I don't know why I have been so tired lately. I've been coming home and going straight to bed almost everyday this week.

I just signed up for this site called Nova MB. Check it out here, and refer me by clicking "thisxisromance" in the referral part of signing up.

The THiNK Art Zine deadline is on Saturday [2 days left] & I'm super excited to get things going and printed. :D

It's been forever since I've had a picture post. Maybe sometime this week I'll get around to making something worth posting about. I`ll definitely have pictures after this weekend :D

Things are actually going pretty well. I have to say, this has probably been the best past couple of weeks that I've had in awhile. I can't wait to get the catalogue printed [which is still selling ad space if you're interested!], and start working on the layout for the art zine. I'm also going to work on the GuluWalk zine this weekend hopefully, and start a split zine with Chris and my own perzine. Wow. I'm going to be pretty busy in the zine world haha.

And if anyone is interested in sending some zines to be reviewed for either Be Not Afraid Blog, or SourGrapes Zines, or of course being distroed, then send those along! Id really like to start expanding the distro stock.

That's all for now. I've got an AP history text book that is calling my name.

I've been working all weekend on the new print catalogue for the distro. It features a lot of new zines, a lot of rewritten reviews, and I am going to start posting all over the place for ad space in it, to try to help make copies for THiNK art zine.

Here`s the cover:

If you`d like to buy ad space, e-mail me at avocadotreedistro@yahoo.com

Ughh. I think I`m getting sick :[

I`ve been feeling so artsy lately! I went ahead and started a submission-based art zine, THiNK. The first issue`s deadline for submissions is March 31st, so shortly after I`ll have ordering information up.

I finally packaged the scarves for the Richmond Zine Fest, which I won`t be able to table at [but will be attending for a couple of hours] because I got 1st place in the Skills USA contest for the county, and have to be up in Richmond anyways that weekend for the competition. Ugh. I`ll be around though, checking it out & hopefully meeting some new people.

Oh! & i also finished my consignment order for Sweet Candy Distro. Finally, after 3 months. :P

& the catalogue for the distro is almost finished. I just need to put it all together & get it printed, & it will be ready to ship out! Hopefully all this motivation won`t fade.

Ugh. I have so much to do but I`m too lazy to do any of it.

I just got the internet back on the other day, so sorry for not updating. I`ve been busy with distro things and school and haven`t had much time for anything actually.

I`m working on putting together a print catalogue for the distro. I`m looking at getting about 1000 or so printed [my school has awesomely low rates for printing], and sending them as promo trades to other distros and zines, as well as including them in my Sampler contributions. & i`m thinking about selling really cheap ad space in it to help pay for shipping & printing. Hopefully I`ll have a better response than I did last time I was thinking about printing a catalogue.

I`m working on consignment orders, blankets, and new scarf designs as far as crocheting goes. I bought some new yarn from Hobby Lobby last weekend when I went that is to die for. It`s so yummy & soft & makes an awesome scarf.

I`m also working on some new zines. I wanted to put together a GuluWalk zine about the crisis in Uganda and numberous ways that people can help out and make a difference, but that kind of fell through. I`ve been so busy with other things I haven`t worked on it at all. I`m gathering all my writings for another perzine that will be completely handmade and numbered. I`m even thinking about handwriting maybe 50 copies and selling them as artist editions.

Gawd I have so many ideas for such crafty things but hardly any time or energy to actually do them. I need to get motivated.

& by the way, check out the new interview I did with Jamie from KneLow cosmetics over at Be Not Afraid blog/zine.

I`m going to go try to get some stuff done now. Wish me luck :]

MyArtPlot.com

has anyone else ever heard of this? I got an e-mail from the founder today, and signed up this afternoon. It seems kind of like Etsy, but a little different. I don`t know, I`ll give it a try.

I`m going to try to get some crocheting done tonight since the weather is so bad and I have no plans. Nathan sent me some gorgeous flowers, & my room smells so pretty now :D

♥happy valentines day!
